All Saints Church at Batford Springs in Hertfordshire will be hosting our touring exhibition, Watershed, from 11th to 26th April 2026, each day from 12-5pm.
This lovely church sits on the banks of the River Lea, where fresh water bursts up through the chalk aquifer to feed the river. This week, Angela Mellen has been harvesting willow from the river banks to create a huge new willow sculpture for this installation.
We have a packed programme of events, in partnership with Batford Springs Volunteers and All Saints, including a dawn chorus bird walk, an evening of music and poetry, activities with the local primary school, a guided river walk by conservation volunteers, a litter pick, and an afternoon of art by the river. By engaging with as many groups as possible from the local community, we aim to draw attention to the vitality and acute vulnerability of our waterways, especially our precious local chalk streams.
All events are free. No booking is needed to visit the installation, which is open every day from 12-5pm, but for the events please book your free place via Eventbrite.
