5th Dec 2013: Jody Gilby has been working with the WHYfront, aka SLWA, on A Public Airing – an investigation into the effect of endemic sexism in our everyday lives. Some flash mob performances captured in Jody’s video.

29th Nov 2013: XAP artists Ana Oak and Laura Dekker are two of the seven artists taking part in the new Infektory Gallery’s first group show, Transmogrification, running 6th Dec 2013 – 24th Jan 2014, 12 Stukeley Street, Covent Garden.

21st Nov 2013: Great article in ARTnews online, featuring our Kickstarter campaign for the Psychotropic House. The article gives a roundup of how crowdfunding is being used in a creative way for fund raising by artists.

8th Nov 2013: XAP will be resident throughout Jan 2014 at Yinka Shonibare’s Guest Projects, with The Psychotropic House. We’ve just completed our excellent line-up for the Symposium on 16th Jan.

30th Oct 2013: Great write-up of Liz Sergeant’s screening at Feminism in London 2013.

19th Oct 2013: Liz Sergeant’s video – ‘Speaking of Charlotte: the Spirit of Activism‘ – will be screened at the forthcoming Feminism in London Conference 2013 on Saturday 26th October.

12th Oct: Sally Redway’s NUMB series is part of the touring exhibition, Shape Open 2013. The next venue will be the Chocolate Factory, London N22, 9th Nov 2013 – 30th Jan 2014.

1st Oct 2013: Anya Charikov-Mickleburgh will be opening her studio as part of ACAVA Open Studios, 62 Hetley Road, London W12 8BB, 12th-13th Oct.

30th Sept 2013: Angela Mellen’s new project explores the life of the stunt man. Last week she met up with Roy Scammell at Elstree, to interview him about his work on Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange and other films.

24th Sept 2013: Feminism in London hails Liz Sergeant’s performance as “spine tingling”, at their fundraiser at Space Station 65 on Friday night, 20th Sept 2013.

20th Sept: Dina Varpahovsky has been invited to show her work at Zeitgeist Open 2013, 27th Sept-5th Oct. Zeitgeist Open is part of the Deptford X International Arts Festival.

17th Sept 2013: Anya Charikov-Mickleburgh is part of the wonderful Salon Artistocrat “House of Beauty”, at the Cock ‘n’ Bull Gallery in Rivington Street, Shoreditch, 19th-22nd Sept 2013.

7th Sept 2013: Dina Varpahovsky’s paintings from the Condominium series will be available at the CavalieroFinn stand at the Affordable Art Fair Battersea 24-27 October 2013.

2nd Sept 2013: Kids of Dada have selected Dina Varpahovsky’s painting ‘Room No 14’ for UP & COMING, their inaugural London exhibition opening on November 7th at The Hop Exchange, Bankside, 24 Southwark Street, London SE1 1TY.

28th August 2013: Liz Sergeant has been invited to perform at Feminism in London 2013, 26th October. More info on venue and speakers to follow.

12th August 2013: Sally Redway’s NUMB series has been selected for The Shape Open 2013, 3rd-27th October at the Nunnery Gallery, 181 Bow Road, London E3. The NUMB series represents the idea that emotional trauma, as well as causing what has been known as mental illness, motivates creative work, and this is a positive aspect of emotional disturbance.

6th August 2013: Fiercely Being Me, new interactive installation from Laura Dekker, commissioned by Dr Martens for their Carnaby Street projection wall, running through autumn to winter 2013/4.

29th July 2013: Anya Charikov-Mickleburgh has been invited to exhibit her paintings in the Florence Biennale, 30th Nov-8th Dec 2013.

24th July 2013: Alison Griffin has had three drawings accepted in the Islington Summer Salon, which runs 26th July to 16th August at the Islington Arts Factory.

19th July 2013: XAP artists Angela Mellen and Liz Sergeant have been shortlisted for the Kew Summer Festival 2014, celebrating the remarkable chemical factories that are plants and fungi.

6th July 2013: Liz Sergeant is participating in “Light, Space & Rhythm”, an exhibition showcasing two local artists at Neves in Harpenden from Thursday 25th July.

4th July 2013: Dina Varpahovsky will be appearing in the Zeitgeist Summer Exhibition 19th-20th July. Artists and curators in dialogue Saturday 20th July 4-5pm.

27th June: Dina Varpahovsky’ painting Room No 16 has been selected for the Worcester Open 2013 exhibition taking place at Worcester Museum and Art Gallery from 13 to 27 July 2013.

19th June 2013: XAP are delighted to have been selected as part of the next programme of Guest Projects at Yinka Shonibare’s Guest Projects space. Our ambitious project will include a series of events and exhibition during 2014.

16th May 2013: Coming up this weekend is the fabulous Museums at Night festival of after-hours events in museums, galleries and heritage sites throughout the UK and beyond. XAP will be at the London Canal Museum in the old Gatti ice-cream factory, for an evening of ice-inspired art, performance and poetry, Saturday 18th May.

13th May: Laura Dekker’s latest 10-metre projected interactive installation has been selected for the <ERROR 415> New Media Award screening at ArtPadSF, San Francisco, 17th May 2013.

1st May< 2013: Dina Varpahovsky’s painting ‘Room No 15’ has been selected for The London Group Open Exhibition 2013. The exhibition opens on 28th May at The Cello Factory, 33-34 Cornwall Rd, Waterloo, London SE1 8TJ, and runs until Friday 7th June. The Private View will take place from 6-9pm on Tuesday 28th May.

28th April: 2013 XAP’s show at the Curious Duke closed on Saturday. Thankyou to everyone who came, and for the great feedback. The laundry basket has now been opened and Liz Sergeant is, at this moment, sifting through the fascinating contents you have left behind! More will be revealed very soon. 27th April 2013: Shhh. Tell no one. Laura Dekker has been working with Secret Cinema on an interactive installation for their 20th production, opening today and running until 9th June.

22nd April 2013: XAP have just finished installing their Spring Show, Dirty Linen, which opens on 23rd April at the Curious Duke Gallery, Whitecross Street, London EC1, and runs until 27th April 2013.

2nd April 2013: Alison Griffin’s drawing, ‘Behind Every Window Lies Another Hidden Story’, wins Staff Vote Award at Clyde & Co private view.

27th March 2013: XAP artist Laura Dekker’s new installation, Never Been Low, opens at Easter at Dr Martens’ Carnaby Street shop. The piece has been commissioned by Dr Martens as part of their programme to support local artists.

12th March: Ute Kirkwood and Miriam Paschke’s exhibition, Was Neues Muss Her, works on canvas and paper at diemalschule, Plinganserstrasse 6 (im Stemmerhof), 81369 München.

8th Jan 2013: Liz Sergeant is currently participating in A Million Minutes – a two-year programme of arts activity and creative exchange in Islington’s Archway and Finsbury Park. There are three overlapping commissioning strands, Hostings, Windows and Spaces, to support exceptional new work within wide social contexts. www.amillionminutes.org. Next month Liz will be exhibiting Talking of Hope – a Portrait of President Obama, at Head to Head, Upstairs Gallery, Berkhamsted, 7th Feb – 2nd March 2013.

19th Dec 2012: Angela Mellen prints are now available at Graphic Plus, Market Place, St Albans.

7th December: Snowfest is showing this weekend, in Highgate. Laura Dekker’s projected installation, programmed with xBox Kinect, generates interactive snowfall and virtual snowball throwing for children as they wait to enter the enchanted grotto…

1st December 2012: XAP artist Sue Douglass has been shortlisted for the Yamana Gold Art Prize. Her work is now showing at the Yamana headquarters in Toronto.

20th Nov 2012: XAP artist Alison Griffin in Make-Room at Rainbow Works, 22nd November to 2nd December, with Sophie Barr, Robert Crosse, Ipek Hamzaoğlu, Tom Keeley, Michael Outhwaite and Evelina Simkute.

12th Nov 2012: Cavaliero Finn have selected several works by Dina Varpahovsky and Alison Griffin for their Winter Show, 16th-18th November 2012, at their home-cum-gallery in Herne Hill, London SE24.

12th Oct 2012: Jody Gilby’s ‘The illusion of Art Series’ opens tomorrow at the Parallax Art Fair at Chelsea Town Hall, 13-14th October 2012.

15th Aug 2012: Two XAP artists, Liz Sergeant and Laura Dekker, selected for ReKindle Arts’ Growth in Queens Wood, London, 8th-9th September 2012. Laura’s interactive projected installation, Presence, is in the yew grove near the Witches’ Clearing; Liz will be performing Speaking of Charlotte at the private view party on Saturday evening.

20th July 2012: Space Station 65, in Kennington, have invited Liz Sergeant to perform at the Private View of ‘No Now’, their tenth anniversary celebratory exhibition.

28th June: Dina Varpahovsky is exhibiting at the Summer Salon, Islington Arts Factory, London N7, from 20th July – 10th August 2012.

20th June 2012: Alison Griffin and Dina Varpahovsky have been selected for Clyde & Co’s Art Award 2012, as part of Clyde’s Community Investment programme to support and mentor emerging artists.

16th June 2012: Jonathan Jones in Saturday’s Guardian describes Alison Griffin’s work as “curious and memorable”, singling out her large-scale piece Behind Every Window Lies Another Hidden Story as a “brilliantly authoritative” drawing.
