Ute’s work and research deals with human relationships, mental health and non free movement or confinement.
She explores issues of women and mental health with reference to art historical paintings and sculpture. Her concerns with space and gender, space and subjectivity have also been explored in recent video works. Pared down and haunting, her videos are often disquieting yet beautiful. She works with a variety of media such as drawing, painting, printmaking and in video.
