XAP artist Laura Dekker has been awarded the Goldsmiths / V&A Digital Arts Programme Residency for 2019. She will be working between Goldsmiths University of London’s ‘Hatchlab’ digital fabrication and physical computing facilities, and at the V&A’s collections. The residency takes place during spring and summer 2019, culminating in an installation at the V&A’s Digital Design Weekend in September.
Laura will be continuing her work in emotion, embodiment and machine learning, concentrating on how a ‘sentient’ machine might select and direct its interactions and focus of attention, in order to manage the complexity of the world.
